After the battle of Simon Tower, there are a lot of questions... heroes missing, villains who have changed sides, evil twins, and rampant confusion. The new LightCorps is holding a press conference to place everyone's minds at ease. Unfortunately, one of the new superheroes can't keep his story straight...
This short tale gives a quick introduction into the world of OTHER PEOPLE'S HEROES, along with a sneak preview of the upcoming novel THE PYRITE WAR.
Associated Pressure The Heroes of Siegel City Book 4 eBook Blake Petit
In the afterward Blake Petit admits that this story was written for a special even based around "free comic day" at one of the comic book shops he frequents. Unfortunately, the fact that the story for this event had to be kept to 4 pages or less really cut into the ability Blake had to write a compelling story.I can't even say this is a complete scene as the story doesn't really have a ending. Instead, Blake dipped into the bag of powers he had available and used the powers to shortcut the conflict he had been building up in the story. It was abrupt and more importantly felt extremely "cheap". The story ends up with a very incomplete feel.
This was a major disappointment as "Other People's Heroes" is actually a well thought out story with some solid characters who were nothing more than props in this story.
Hopefully when Blake does finally produce the full sequel to Other People's Heroes it will rise back to the quality of the original story, and this story will be forgotten.

Associated Pressure The Heroes of Siegel City Book 4 eBook Blake Petit Reviews
Loved it.
It's short, very short. I like the theme of it, and it carries on the idea of superheroing as professional wrestling as Copycat just can't be trusted to cut a promo without a strict script. That said, 99 cents for four pages felt like a bit of a rip-off, and makes me wish that I had looked more closely at the listing before purchasing it.
Light and slight, but amusing.
Blake Petit is someone who lives and breathes comics, a comics nerd's comics nerd, and this little story reflects that with its gentle poking of fun at the flip-flopping, retconning, rebooting, resurrecting and often logic-defying world of superheroes.
It follows directly on from his novel Other People's Heroes, which you definitely should read, though not necessarily before reading this. Everything essential to the story is contained in the story. (It also gives a preview of the new Siegel City novel, which I'm very much looking forward to.) There's a big gag, but also a series of little gags, as the new guy on the superhero team completely screws up a press conference with the stupidest explanation of events you've ever heard.
